Let’s talk about vitamins. |
Unless you have been formally studying
vitamin and mineral supplementation for
a significant period of time, walking
into your local health food store and
trying to decide what is best for your
body can be downright overwhelming!
You’ll find remedies to ward off cancer,
high blood pressure, cholesterol
problems, sexual dysfunction, and the
list goes on and on.
The real issue isn’t finding a vitamin
or mineral that will “cure” some
affliction, but rather to supplement to
provide your body with the proper
nutrition to prevent these issues. It’s
easy to feel bulletproof when you don’t
have any recognizable symptoms for any
health problems, but that is the most
prudent time to supplement.
There’s no doubt that the best way to
get your daily intake of vitamins and
minerals is through the food that you
eat. Unfortunately, it’s almost
impossible to achieve optimum health in
our society in whole food forms. It’s a
sad statement for the way that the land
has been treated by commercial food
growers. Add to that the processing,
additives and preservatives, and you’re
really kidding yourself if you think
that that is all you need.
A good multivitamin should be number one
on your list. Hopefully it would include
vitamin A, C, D, E, Thiamin, Niacin, B6,
B12, Folic Acid, Biotin and Pantothenic
acid. Make sure that these are in the
right forms to assist your body as they
should. We’ll consider each of these
more in future editions on the blog.
Also, be aware that the minimum RDA
(it’s supposed to mean recommended
dietary allowances-I consider it the
really dumb amounts ) is designed to
keep you from dying, not keep you at
your peak!
Next, I believe that a good Colloidal
Mineral is really necessary, followed by
Omega-3 fatty acids.
Let’s start with that. My wish for you
is that if you do these things you will
never know what diseases and illnesses
you may have prevented.
